Hülya Yükseloğlu

Prof. Dr. E. Hülya YÜKSELOĞLU is a distinguished professor at Istanbul University – Cerrahpaşa, Institute of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Sciences. She has been actively engaged in forensic molecular genetics and forensic sciences for decades, contributing extensively to research, education, and laboratory management in these fields. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1992, followed by a Master’s degree in Forensic Sciences from Istanbul University in 1996, where her thesis focused on HLA-DQA1 locus typing using PCR techniques for forensic applications. In 2003, she completed her PhD in Forensic Sciences at Istanbul University, with her doctoral research centered on Y-chromosome STR polymorphism for paternity testing and forensic identification.From 2019 to 2021, she served as the Vice Director of the Institute of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Sciences, and since 2014, she has been managing the Forensic Molecular Genetics Laboratory. She specializes in paternity testing, kinship analysis, forensic DNA analysis, population genetics, forensic sciences, forensic genetics, criminology, behavioral genetics, epigenetics, crime scene investigation, standardization and accreditation, crime organization, sexual offenses, environmental crime, and the impact of environmental pollution on living organisms. She has numerous national and international publications, conference presentations, and research contributions.
